The Gourmet Spoon, a division of The Witherspoon Group, Inc., has been in existence since 1999. Originally organized to handle occasional food consulting, it has blossomed into a full service interactive culinary events operation. Our company offers the following:
  • After teaching for many home cook programs around the Denver Metropolitan area, Chef Dan started teaching at The Seasoned Chef Cooking School in 2004. Since then, he has become the school's most prolific instructor. In the summer of 2011, The Witherspoon Group purchased the school and took over management of operations on September 1, 2011. The Seasoned Chef Cooking School offers both day and evening classes, week-days and week-ends, for aspiring chefs of all ages and experience levels.

  • With our Team of friendly, experienced instructors, we offer personalized private cooking classes and workshops for home cooks of all ages and interests. We can work one on one, and can handle groups of any size.
  • Since 2001 Chef Dan and his Team have been conducting Culinary Team Building events for small businesses and large corporations from around the world. We have worked with many teacher training programs, event planning companies, hotels and resorts, including The Broadmoor Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs.
  • When your culinary competitive juices begin flowing, it’s time to contact The Gourmet Spoon and have us facilitate your next cooking competition. We conduct company activities and personal grudge matches between family and friends, including Silver Spoon Chef, our version of Iron Chef, bake-off and mystery basket formats.
  • The Gourmet Spoon has worked with many of Denver’s elementary, middle and high school programs to host cooking workshops. There is a growing number of young people who have a keen interest in the goings-on of the kitchen, in part due to the curiosity created by cooking shows on television. We provide any format from a one day basic cooking skills techniques class, to multi-day programs, featuring culinary skills and styles from across America and around the world.
  • We work regularly with children ages 7 and up, conducting personalized private classes tailored to the age and interest of the young chef.
